Western Nights and Carnival Lights
It’s summer and that means it’s time for the Teton County Fair! There’s nothing better than hanging out at the fairgrounds eating funnel cakes, viewing the rodeo horses, and getting a little dirt on your boots. It’s 10 full days packed with events. Here are just a few of the things you can see and do at the Fair July 19-28.
4-H Events and Exhibits
Of course, the heart of a county fair is the 4-H kids showcasing their hard work. From horses, chickens, cattle, and goats, to fashion design, caking decorating, photography and more, don’t miss the complete schedule of events and come see what the talented youth in Jackson area have been doing.
Concert by Whiskey Myers – Wednesday July 24, 7:00pm
“Southern rock, country, blues, and a bit of soul.” Those words have been used to describe the band Whiskey Myers, who will be headlining the 2019 Fair Kickoff Concert. This is a free concert on the Grassy Arena. It’s a perfect setting for a summer night concert.
Pig Wrestling – Thursday July 25, 6:00pm
If you’ve never had a chance to see what pig wrestling is all about, get your tickets now for this wildly popular event. Teams have one minute to wrestle their pig and place it butt-first in a barrel. The fastest team wins. That may sound like a feat in itself, but add the fact that this is all done in a giant mud pit! You don’t want to miss this hilarious sight!
JH Ninja Warriors – Friday July 26, 7:00pm
You’ve watched it on TV. Now get an up-close look at how actual competitors from NBC’s American Ninja Warriors conquer the course right here in Jackson. There will also be other national contestants plus those who call Jackson Hole home. Come root for your favorite Ninja on Friday night!
Rodeo – Saturday July 27, 7:00pm
Nothing celebrates western heritage like cowboys and cowgirls competing and showing off their skills in a rodeo! Saturday night at the fair features the best rodeo round. This is two hours of fast-paced, heart-stopping action that you don’t want to miss. Get your tickets now for the best seat in the arena.
Figure 8 Car Races – Sunday July 28, 7:00pm
This is exactly what it sounds like…cars must complete the race by navigating a figure 8 course without crashing at the intersection in the center. The driver’s goal is for their car (and for them) to make it out in one piece. Of course, the crowd is waiting for the inevitable crash. The roar of the cars is loud and the crowd is louder! You can guarantee this night will be sold out so don’t wait to get your tickets.
That’s over a week of amazing events at the Teton County Fair. Along with the thrill of the rides at the carnival, you can pack in every day with summer fun! See you there!
