A Day Trip to Downtown Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is the perfect place to spend a week snowboarding, hiking, dog sledding and more, but what should you do when you only have one day in Jackson Hole?

We’ve got you covered.

Head to downtown Jackson and spend a great day exploring! Let’s look at the businesses and restaurants around the Town Square and plan your day.

Breakfast

Start the morning with fresh roasted coffee, a Cowboy Croissant or fruit smoothie from Cowboy Coffee. It’s a relaxing atmosphere so no need to hurry. Or try The Bunnery, offering homemade bakery items and a full breakfast menu.

The Morning

You can easily spend the morning enjoying the heart of Jackson. There are lots of unique shops where you can find a bit of the Old West to take home with you. Hide Out Leathers has been on the Town Square for 45 years. Check out Wyoming Outfitters, Jackson Trading Company, and Beaver Creek Hat Company. If you’re looking for a Jackson Hole t-shirt, hat or sweatshirt, head to Lee’s Tees on the corner of Broadway and Cache. And don’t miss Gaslight Alley for more locally owned and operated shops.

Lunch

After a morning walking around downtown, it’s time for lunch and you have some great choices. On the west side of Town Square, there’s the Local Restaurant and Bar with a menu featuring locally-ranched meats and game alongside fresh seafood, shellfish, house-ground burgers, and seasonally-inspired food. Pinky G’s Pizzeria has been voted the best pizza in Jackson Hole since 2011 so you know you can’t go wrong there. There’s also the Merry Piglets Mexican Cafe and Liberty Burger.

The Afternoon

Jackson is home to over two dozen art galleries. Fortunately, you’ll be able to spend the afternoon browsing through several galleries right downtown. Visit Astoria Fine Art, Mountain Trails Gallery, Altamira Fine Art, Rare Gallery, Gallery Wild and others for sculptures, paintings, pottery and more.

Dinner

Have your family and friends meet you downtown for dinner. There’s the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, complete with saddle bar stools, fine dining at the Snake River Grill, authentic Italian dishes at Orsetto Italian Bar and Eatery, or American Bistro fare at the Trio.

All that makes for a great day in downtown Jackson, Wyoming!
