Best Reasons To Visit Jackson Hole In The Spring: Read On Our Blog >

Make Like A Local & Ski Snow King Mountain

Wyoming’s first ski resort, Snow King Mountain Resort, is a smaller family ski area located just steps from downtown Jackson. Known locally as the “Town Hill,” the area offers five lifts servicing 400 acres of skiable terrain. You will find a vertical of over 1,500 feet, with several steep runs near the top and some nice cruisers toward the bottom.

The family-friendly Snow King Mountain might be a local’s favorite, but it’s also the only ski resort in Jackson Hole with night skiing, a Cowboy Coaster and that’s located smack dab in the middle of downtown Jackson, WY.

Snow King is “small but mighty”, boasting 32 runs over 400 acres of skiable terrain with enough challenges for the experienced skiers and plenty of groomed goodness for the newbies. You can literally see the runs of Snow King from Mountain Modern, and the bus stop is mere steps from our doors for the 5 minute ride to the base (and there’s plenty of storage for your gear in our rooms).

Snow King’s the only place you can night ski in Jackson Hole, offering a one-of-a-kind evening activity that keeps the stoke going for hours after dark. Admire the twinkling lights of Jackson as you glide down the mountain, Monday – Saturday from 4-7pm.

Be sure to check out the Cowboy Coaster – an exhilarating roller-coaster thrill ride which takes riders 456 feet up the mountain then lets you loose down twists and turns as high as four stories tall!
